Our Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy- Top Cat Productions

Introduction

Top Cat productions is a Theatrical live Performance company.

At Top Cat productions, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact while creating and delivering high-quality theatre, workshops, and classes. We are a small company operating from a leased studio space in st Nicholas shopping centre in Sutton

Our Environmental Impact

Our main impacts are from the operation of a studio space and transport and logistics. These operations result in carbon emissions from electricity, petrol, diesel and waste produced in the studio. We also consume natural resources such as paper in our promotions and office function and materials for set, props and costumes. In addition we use batteries for transmitting radio mics in performances.

Objectives

We recognise that it is important for our business to have as little negative impact on our environment as possible.

We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and encourage our clients and partners to do the same.

We aim to integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions. To ensure that all staff/ contractors are fully aware of our Environmental Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.

We will:

  • Reduce waste by reusing, repairing, and recycling costumes, props, and set materials wherever possible.
  • Minimise paper use by using digital documents, tickets, and marketing materials whenever practical.
  • Encourage sustainable travel by using public transport, walking, cycling, or car sharing where possible when travelling to rehearsals, workshops, and performances.
  • Conserve energy by switching off lights, heating, and electrical equipment when they are not in use.
  • Choose environmentally responsible suppliers and materials whenever practical and affordable.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly and follow recycling facilities available at our studio and the venues we visit.
  • Encourage our staff, freelancers, participants, and audiences to support environmentally responsible practices.
  • Dead batteries to be recycled at designated recycling points.
  • Wherever possible to use rechargeable batteries to reduce disposable battery waste.
  • Make this policy available for all staff and contractors.
